Coming Out !!

Coming out as gay, lesbian, bisexual ,or transgender can be tough at any age, but teens have a lot more to think about. Is it safe to come out at school? Will your mom or dad reject you? Will you be kicked out of the house?

Sometimes it's better to keep it to yourself especially because of the fact that it can just be a phase. But, if you feel bad about hiding it is best to tell. Eventually your parents will have to accept you.

"When your a teen it is a time when feelings and thoughts of sexuality become intense and confusing. For many gay teens, feeling different from their friends creates a pressure to fit in and keep their sexual orientation secret. They can fear rejection, discrimination and even violence. It is important to create a space of safety and acceptance for them to better understand their feelings".

When coming out it is best to just get straight to the point instead of going around it. Just say "IM GAY" or "IM A LESBIAN". If someone really loves you they will accept you for you. Sexual Orientation shouldn't be the reason your mom doesn't like you. But not all moms are the same, it will take time and patience. LOVE YOURSELF and who you are.
