Stretching Natural Hair

Stretching Natural Hair..
If you have natural hair like mines you know the struggle after you wash your hair and it shrinks.

Shrinkage is basically the worst. Its like your hair is WAY more easier when it is wet, but once it dries your hair dries up and get so hard and crunchy and combs hurt. There are many methods to stretch out your hair with no heat. But, if you are fine with applying heat to your hair you can always use the blow dryer after washing your hair, but always make sure your hair is moisturized before blow drying.

One of my favorite methods to stretch out my hair is the thread or yarn method. After washing your hair apply your favorite leave in conditioner and section your hair. You can either choose to do large parts or little parts depending on how much time you have on your hands. Just remember that the smaller the sections the more time it will take but you will be happy with your results, and the bigger the sections is probably the less stretched your hair will be. You tube shows you how to stretch your hair with Thread or yarn.

    1. Yes you can, but because you are natural underneath it is best to wrap it tighter there than at the bottom where it is permed

    1. Acrylic yarn OR hair weaving thread

      your fingers and hands

Simply start on moisturized hair for best results. Cut the yarn or thread long enough to completely cover the entire length of your hair. Starting from the roots or base of the section, which roughly is the size of a medium-1 inch twist, begin to wrap the yarn or thread around the base of the hair. I like to fold the thread or yarn right at the base, then wrap it over the length of the hair. I secure the ends with a knot.
